Presents
Little Inventors

Did you answer the call to GO GREEN?

The actions of people, like both you and me, are contributing to climate change. We create lots of pollution and waste which causes unnatural changes in the earth’s temperature. This is not good news for our planet!

Invention can go a long way towards helping us build a healthier world. Innovation can change the future! From vertical gardens that collect rain water to edible plates and cutlery, we can live more sustainably now so future generations can enjoy the beauty of a thriving planet and healthy ecosystems.

Our daily routines make up our impact on the planet. All the little things you do add up! What did you invent to help people to live greener? Instead of getting the car to school, you could have designed a souped-up skateboard that could take you there instead! Instead of throwing away kitchen scraps, could you have minimised waste and invented a convenient composter with wings that flies right to you?

The subject of climate change can sometimes feel really big and overwhelming. For this challenge, we thought about three areas of daily living and the solutions they could bring about:

1. Eating: Field to fork
We all need food to survive. But everything we eat has an impact on the planet, from the way it’s grown, manufactured, or thrown away. What could be invented to help? Think about inventions that minimise food waste and shorten the journey food takes to get to your table!

2. Traveling: The way we move
Most cars and planes today still burn fossil fuels and cause lots of pollution. Imagine modes of transportation that use renewable energy instead. Vehicles can also perform super tasks to help rejuvenate the earth like planting seeds during the journey!

3. Living: Reinventing everyday
All items we know and use started from an idea, but in our changing world, we need to make tweaks and improvements to better our planet. The little daily things we do at home, at school, anywhere we spend time, they add up! Whether you're relaxing, playing, cleaning, or cooking, inventions that make use of sustainable energy or minimise water usage make all the difference!

We only have one planet earth. You can live greener to help save it! Let’s all work together for a brighter tomorrow. Let’s GO GREEN for a better planet!
