I lead shop operations and member engagement at Newlab as a multidisciplinary maker with a strong background in CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and digital fabrication. I’ve had a hands-on, DIY mindset since early on and enjoy turning ideas into real, functional parts—especially when the solution doesn’t already exist. I combine technical expertise with a passion for community by developing workshops, supporting members, and helping bring innovative concepts to life.

Rapid Prototyping

3D printing is amazing because it lets us make quick practice versions of our ideas, which engineers call "rapid prototyping." Instead of just looking at a picture on a computer screen, we can print out a real plastic piece to hold in our hands and see if it fits perfectly. This helps us easily spot any mistakes and fix our designs super fast before we make the final version!

3D Scanning

Every maker knows the struggle of trying to digitally model an awkward, organic shape from scratch, which was exactly my roadblock for the Giraffe Hat project. Instead of fighting with calipers, I 3D scanned the physical hat to capture an exact, high-resolution digital replica of its quirky geometry. Now that I have successfully imported this precise mesh into my CAD software, I finally have the perfect foundation to start designing my custom modifications!

Testing Components

This is a first step into my design process to make sure all the components will work as intended. Having these components in hand will also give me the ability to get physical dimensions off the real hardware so i can accurately create a CAD model of the final design.
